Bhubaneswar, May 23 -- The Directorate of Elementary Education has issued show-cause notices to 79 Block Education Officers (BEOs) across Odisha for allegedly failing to process and forward online transfer applications of elementary teachers within the stipulated deadline.

The move marks a major administrative action by the State government over alleged irregularities and negligence in the ongoing primary teacher transfer process.

According to official sources, May 10, 2026, was the last date for forwarding online transfer applications of elementary teachers to the respective District Education Officers (DEOs).
