Bhubaneswar, May 1 -- In a significant move to support the working class, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi on Friday made a major announcement on the occasion of Labour Day. The state government has decided to increase the daily wages for workers across various skill levels, marking a crucial step toward improving their economic conditions.

Starting on April 1st, workers' wages will see a substantial rise. Unskilled workers will now receive Rs 472 as their daily wage, up from the previous rate. Likewise, semi-skilled workers will get Rs 522 per day, while skilled workers will see their wages increase to Rs 572. The highest increase has been announced for highly skilled workers, whose daily wage will be Rs 622.
