Bhubaneswar, June 23 -- The Odisha Government intensified its preparedness measures to deal with a possible El Nino situation this year. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi directed the Agriculture Department to formulate a special contingency plan to address challenges that may arise due to reduced rainfall.

The directive was issued during a meeting of the Natural Disaster Committee held at Lok Seva Bhavan in Bhubaneswar. CM Majhi stated that there is a possibility of lower rainfall this year due to the influence of El Nino and stressed the need for proactive planning.
