Bhubaneswar, Aug. 14 -- Two days of incessant rain has pushed up water levels in several rivers across Odisha, raising flood threat in Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and Balasore. The Baitarani is flowing above the danger mark at Anandapur, while the Jalka has crossed the danger level at Mathani in Balasore's Basta block.

The situation remains closely monitored as more rain is expected. Flood water has entered several low-lying areas, while road connectivity has been affected at multiple locations.

In Keonjhar, water levels in the Baitarani and other rivers have risen across Joda, Champua and Anandapur. Floodwater has again started entering through a breach in the Anandapur ring embankment, where repair work is yet to be completed. Several areas ...
