Bhubaneswar, Sept. 26 -- More than 30 families stranded in floodwater in Malkangiri were safely rescued by an ODRAF team on Friday following heavy rain triggered by the deep depression. The families were stranded in Kuduguda under Kutinipali panchayat of Mathili block as flooding affected the area.

The ODRAF team used a motorboat to reach the affected families and bring them to safety. The Sub-Collector and Tehsildar also reached the area and spoke to the families before bringing them to the nearby Atalguda School.

After being rescued, the families were accommodated at the Atalguda School. Cooked food was provided to them at night as the administration made arrangements for their stay.
