Odisha flood crisis deepens: Devi, Bhargavi rivers breach danger mark; situation turns critical
India, July 31 -- Flood threat persisted across parts of Odisha as the Devi and Bhargavi rivers remained above their respective danger levels.
The latest readings indicated that both rivers crossed their danger levels at key monitoring points, officials said on Friday. The development came amid the ongoing flood situation in the state.
Bhargavi River Crosses Danger Level
According to reports, the Bhargavi River was flowing at 11.25 feet at Balanga, exceeding its danger mark of 10.42 feet.
Similarly, the Devi River at Bauriakana was recorded at 5.08 feet above its danger mark of 4.95 feet.
The authorities are closely monitoring the flood situation as both the Devi and Bhargavi rivers are flowing above their respective danger levels....
