Odisha Fire Services issues notices to 800 buildings over safety norm violations
Bhubaneswar, Sept. 5 -- Odisha Fire and Emergency Service (OFES) issued notices to around 800 buildings across different categories for allegedly operating without mandatory fire safety certificates. The department will begin a month-long special enforcement and awareness campaign, titled 'Surakhsit Odisha, Vikashit Odisha', from September 15 to improve compliance and prevent fire-related incidents.
According to OFES, notices were issued this year to 258 residential complexes, 172 hotels and 100 educational institutions for allegedly violating fire safety norms.
