Bhubaneswar, March 31 -- In a dramatic protest, several farmers in Odisha's Balasore district on Tuesday blocked a state highway by placing sacks of paddy on the road, disrupting vehicular movement for several hours.
The incident was reported from Nadigaon square under Soro police limits in the district, where hundreds of aggrieved farmers staged a road blockade on the Soro-Kupari route. Visuals from the spot showed paddy sacks strewn across the highway as farmers sat in protest, bringing traffic to a complete standstill.
