Bhubaneswar, Feb. 26 -- A farmer from Junagadi village under Rajnagar block of Kendrapara district allegedly died on Thursday after facing severe harassment during paddy procurement, his family claimed.The deceased farmer, identified as Trilochan Nayak, suffered a heart attack after returning from a rice mill where he had been struggling for days to get his produce accepted.
According to the family members, Trilochan had received a message on January 16 asking him to bring his paddy for procurement. However, even after running to the cooperative society for nearly 40 days, he was instructed by the society secretary to take his crop to a mill instead of the mandi.
