Odisha doctors' protest enters second day, patients bear the brunt of stir
Bhubaneswar, July 2 -- Hospital services were seen to be severely disrupted across Odisha as the doctors' protest entered its second consecutive day. The ongoing protest, driven by a 10-point charter of demands raised by medical associations, resulted in significant operational gridlock.
As per reports, hundreds of outpatients were forced to return from the government hospitals without getting a check-up.
The impact of the protest was reported from across major hospitals, starting from Balasore to Rourkela, and from Kendrapara to Cuttack. While emergency units are still functional to handle critical cases, routine hospital services, outpatient departments (OPDs), and ticketing systems faced closure.
