Bhubaneswar, Sept. 5 -- A woman and her husband died in hospital a day apart in Madhupur village under Pirahat police station in Odisha's Bhadrak. The woman reportedly died on September 3 after suddenly falling critically ill. However, her husband died in hospital the following day after allegedly being bitten by a snake.

According to reports, the husband was bitten by a venomous snake while handling a pile of bamboo. He was subsequently taken to the hospital; however, he died while undergoing treatment.

Following his death, suspicion arose that the woman might have also died due to snakebite.
