Bhubaneswar, Sept. 23 -- Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) has announced an Odisha bandh after Dussehra over the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) (MMDR) Amendment Act, 2026. The party has also planned a seven-day 'economic blockade' and demanded the resignation of School and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond.

The decisions were taken at the Congress executive committee meeting, where seven resolutions were passed. OPCC president Bhakta Charan Das said that the party would intensify its movement against the issues raised by it.
