Bhubaneswar, July 11 -- OdishaChief Minister Mohan Majhi on Saturday directed the Crime Branch to launch a criminal investigation into massive printing mistakes found in SCERT textbooks from Class I to Class VIII.

Alongside the directive, the Chief Minister instructed the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) to formally file a case with the Crime Branch Superintendent of Police.

The intervention follows the discovery of nearly 2,000 language and factual errors across primary school textbooks, a revelation that drew widespread criticism against the government.

Prior to the Crime Branch order, a high-level committee under the supervision of the Development Commissioner was formed to investigate the lapses.
