India, Sept. 18 -- Senior IPS officer Amitendra Nath Sinha has been appointed as the Inspector General (IG) of the Border Security Force (BSF). He is a 2002 batch IPS officer of Odisha cadre.

He earlier served as an IG with the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) prior to being transferred to the BSF.

Union Home Ministry Issues Notification The Union Ministry of Home Affairs has released a notification concerning Sinha's appointment. As per the order, Sinha will continue to hold the position from the time he assumes duty until July 10, 2028 or until such time as the government issues additional orders.
