Bhubaneswar, Aug. 13 -- Odisha cabinet on Wednesday approved the continuation of two child welfare schemes for another five years, from 2026-27 to 2030-31, with a combined allocation of around Rs 883.49 crore.

The decisions were taken at a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi. The schemes are aimed at supporting education, care and social security for vulnerable children across the state.

The Cabinet approved Rs 296.99 crore for the continuation of Jashoda and its sub-scheme Ashirbad for five years.

The schemes will provide financial, educational and social support to vulnerable children. This includes children living without biological parents, those with incapacitated parents, children affected or infected by HIV, and...
