Bhubaneswar, April 11 -- In a significant administrative move, the Odisha Cabinet has approved amendments to the Odisha Labour Service (Method of Recruitment and Conditions of Service) Rules, 2019, bringing relief to a section of officers and aligning legal provisions with recent national reforms.
According to the official press release, the amendment grants exemption from departmental examinations to Assistant Labour Officers (ALO) and Rural Labour Inspectors (RLI) who were appointed before the rules came into force in 2019. This decision will enable these officers to be regularised into the Odisha Labour Service, making them eligible for promotion to higher posts, thereby addressing long-pending service concerns.
