Odisha braces for heavy rain: IMD issues alert for 21 districts as cyclonic circulation remains active
Bhubaneswar, Aug. 28 -- The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow warning for 19 districts of Odisha, forecasting heavy rain with thunderstorms and lightning at several places on August 28. Kendujhar and Mayurbhanj have been placed under an orange warning for heavy to very heavy rainfall.
The warning comes as a cyclonic circulation remains active over the northwest Bay of Bengal. Under its influence, a fresh low-pressure area is likely to form along the West Bengal-north Odisha coast on August 29, triggering more rain across the state.
