Bhubaneswar, June 24 -- A BJP booth president was allegedly beaten to death following a heated argument late on Tuesday night in Odisha'sKendrapara district, police said.

The deceased has been identified as Tapan Das, the BJP booth president of Ramnagar. The incident took place under the jurisdiction of Jambu Marine Police Station and has sent shock through the local area.

According to preliminary information, a verbal altercation reportedly broke out between Tapan Das and another individual on Tuesday night. What started as an argument soon escalated into violence.
