Bhubaneswar, Sept. 22 -- Monsoon Session of the Odisha Legislative Assembly began on Tuesday amid uproar by major Opposition parties, BJD and Congress, over textbook errors and the MMDR Act. Soon after Question Hour began, BJD legislators protested alleged errors in school textbooks, while Congress MLAs raised slogans demanding the immediate withdrawal of the MMDR-related legislation.

Carrying placards, Opposition members entered the well of the House and raised slogans, prompting Speaker Surama Padhy to adjourn the proceedings till 1.10 PM. Following the adjournment, BJD legislators moved to Lower PMG in Bhubaneswar to stage a protest over the textbook issue.
