Bhubaneswar, March 18 -- The Odisha Assembly witnessed chaotic scenes on Wednesday as the second phase of the Budget Session began with massive disruptions over the recent fire tragedy at SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.
Soon after proceedings commenced, opposition members stormed into the well of the House, holding placards and raising slogans over the incident that claimed 12 lives. They demanded the resignation of the Health Minister, triggering a prolonged uproar.
Despite repeated appeals by the Speaker to maintain order, the protests continued, forcing the House to be adjourned till 11:30 am.
