Bhubaneswar, Aug. 13 -- A pastor was accused of raping an eight-month pregnant woman on the pretext of prayer from Themera village in Odisha's Kalahandi district.

The accused, identified as Jinesh Kumar, has been absconding following the incident.

According to reports, the woman remained frequently unwell during her pregnancy. This caused concern among her family members. The pastor reportedly told her husband that he could cure her.

The couple went to Kumar's place on August 7. Kumar allegedly mixed medicine in alcohol and made the woman's husband consume it. He then allegedly raped the woman on the pretext of prayer.
