Bhubaneswar, May 20 -- Nearly two decades after the initial proposal, Odisha is set to witness the establishment of a state-of-the-art ESI Medical College and Hospital at Andharua, Bhubaneswar.

The Labour and ESI Department of the state has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) to launch the new institution.

To facilitate the immediate start of operations, the existing 100-bed ESI Hospital at Chandrasekharpur will be handed over to ESIC.

According to The Times of India, the facility is being upgraded to a 220-bed hospital, offering comprehensive healthcare services, including dialysis and super-specialty treatment, to ESIC beneficiaries across Odisha.
