India, July 21 -- Former India spinner Ravichandran Ashwin believes that Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli cannot be easily removed from the national team if they decide to continue playing, given their remarkable records, experience and immense fan following.

Speaking on his YouTube channel Ash ki Baat, Ashwin said both senior batters have built such a strong legacy that leaving them out would be a major challenge for the selectors.

"Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma cannot simply be touched if they want to play. Their achievements speak for themselves. You cannot ignore Rohit's nearly 12,000 ODI runs and Virat's incredible record," Ashwin said.
