Bhubaneswar, March 26 -- Amid rising concerns over the impact of the ongoing Middle East conflict, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi on Thursday assured that there is no shortage of fuel in the state.
Chairing a high-level review meeting, the Chief Minister stated that adequate stocks of petrol, diesel, and LPG are available to meet the state's demand.
However, panic buying triggered by rumours of a possible supply disruption has led to long queues at several petrol pumps across major cities, including Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, and Sambalpur.
Many fuel stations witnessed an unusual surge in demand, with people rushing to fill their tanks, fearing an impending shortage.
