Bhubaneswar, July 17 -- Relatives and fellow villagers were forced to carry the body of a deceased youth through knee-deep water and muddy paths due to a lack of proper road connectivity in Odisha's Nuapada district on Thursday. The unfortunate incident occurred at Lakhana Panchayat under the Komna block configuration.

As per reports, a youth from Singalpada village passed away. Following his demise, family members and residents prepared to carry his body to the local cremation ground to perform the final rites.

However, the village lacks a paved road connection to the funeral site, reportedly. Due to the ongoing monsoon season, the existing kutcha footpath was completely waterlogged.
