Bhubaneswar, March 9 -- The Odishagovernment has decided not to open any new sub-treasuries in the state as most treasury-related services are now being carried out through online systems.
From pension disbursement to challan submission and bill processing, a wide range of treasury functions are currently being handled digitally through the e-voucher system. The shift to online services has significantly reduced the need for physical treasury offices.
At present, there are 169 treasuries functioning across the state.
The information was shared in the House by Law Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan in a reply given on behalf of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi.
