Bhubaneswar, Oct. 11 -- Patients were treated in darkness at the Baliapal Community Health Centre in Odisha's Balasore district after a power cut disrupted electricity supply and the hospital's generator was found to be out of order. Doctors and health workers were forced to use mobile phone torches to examine patients and continue providing medical care.

As per reports, with no alternative power supply available, doctors had to attend to patients in poor lighting conditions. The lack of electricity also caused difficulties for patients and their relatives, raising concerns about the availability of basic facilities at the health centre.
