Bhubaneswar, May 1 -- Researchers at National Institute of TechnologyRourkela have developed a lightweight and high-durability material that can be used in aircraft landing gear, addressing key challenges related to wear resistance and structural strength in aerospace applications.
The development is aimed at improving the performance of landing gear, which must withstand repeated stress during landing and taxiing.
Conventional materials such as aluminium and its alloys, though lightweight, often face durability limitations under such high-stress conditions.
