NHRC begins inquiry into Chameli Ojha case in Odisha
India, Oct. 6 -- The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has begun its investigation into the case involving Chameli Ojha, Sarpanch of Tikhiri under Mahakalapada block in Odisha's Kendrapara. A three-member NHRC team has reached Kendrapada to investigate the allegations and examine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The inquiry relates to allegations that Chameli Ojha was assaulted and subjected to misbehaviour inside the chamber of the Mahakalapada BDO on June 11. Following the incident, Ojha filed a complaint before the National Human Rights Commission seeking an inquiry into the matter.
