Bhubaneswar, June 2 -- Tension prevailed at the Community Health Centre (CHC) in Jatni after family members of a deceased newborn boy staged a protest and confronted the head of the hospital on Tuesday, alleging medical negligence in the treatment of the infant at a private clinic.

The baby was previously shifted from the CHC to the private health facility after the newborn had become critical.

The deceased newborn was the son of Dinabandhu Prusty, a resident of Gobindpur in Jatni. According to family members, Dinabandhu's wife had been receiving treatment at a private clinic in Bhubaneswar during her pregnancy.
