Bhubaneswar, Aug. 29 -- Seven tourists from Odisha's Bhadrak district are among 51 people stranded in Nepal amid a devastating flood and landslide situation. The group had travelled to Nepal through a Kolkata-based travel agency run by Kailash Biswal of Nalgunda panchayat in Chandbali block.

The group comprised tourists from Chandbali and Kerala. They were staying at a lodge near the Trishuli River when sudden flooding and landslides created a dangerous situation. As floodwaters surged rapidly towards the lodge, the tourists fled the area to save their lives.

They travelled nearly 70 kilometres back and took shelter at the Mantamana temple. Nepal Police and local authorities later evacuated all 51 tourists using a ropeway and took them ...
