Nanomaterial magic: How NIT Rourkela's smart bandage make wound healing painless
Bhubaneswar, July 8 -- A team of researchers at NIT Rourkela, Odisha has developed a smart bandage that could make wound care less painful while helping injuries heal faster. The innovation, developed by the institute's Department of Biotechnology and Medical Engineering, is designed to prevent the bandage from sticking to wounds, a common problem with conventional dressings. Researchers say the technology could be particularly beneficial for diabetic patients, whose wounds often take longer to heal.
The smart bandage has been developed after nearly a year of research and is expected to be affordable, with the institute planning to take the product to the market after further refinement and patent registration.
