Bhubaneswar, May 21 -- A woman's body was found partially buried on the Kathajodi riverbed in Cuttack on Thursday. The discovery prompted a police investigation amid suspicions that she may have been murdered and her body was buried at the site.

The identity of the deceased had not been established at the time of reporting. Baranga police recovered the body and launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

According to preliminary information, the body was discovered in a difficult-to-access stretch of the Kathajodi riverbed. Sources indicated that the location cannot be reached by vehicle and is also challenging to access on foot.
