India, Sept. 15 -- Rashmika Mandanna is taking on one of the most challenging roles of her career. The actor will portray legendary Carnatic vocalist and Bharat Ratna recipient MS Subbulakshmi in an upcoming biopic.

Announcing the project on Instagram on Tuesday, Rashmika described the opportunity as an "absolute honour". The film will explore the life and legacy of one of India's most celebrated classical musicians.
