MoRTH notifies amendment to streamline fee for overloaded vehicles on National Highways
Bhubaneswar, April 15 -- In a bid to enhance road safety and protect highway infrastructure, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) has announced an amendment to the National Highways Fee (Determination of Rates and Collection) Fourth Amendment Rules, 2026.
The revised rules, which will come into effect on April 15, 2026, are designed to rationalize the fee structure for overloaded vehicles on National Highways and strengthen enforcement measures to curb overloading.
