Bhubaneswar, June 2 -- Southwest monsoon is expected to reach Kerala on June 4, according to information issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday.

Weather conditions are currently reported to be favourable for the further advancement of the monsoon, raising expectations of its timely progression over southern parts of the country.

The IMD said the southwest monsoon is expected to advance over parts of the southwest and southeast Arabian Sea as well as the Lakshadweep region.

The Meteorological Centre also indicated that the monsoon is likely to cover parts of Kerala and Tamil Nadu as it continues its northward movement.
