Bhubaneswar, Sept. 13 -- A robbery was reported from a residence in Dhasang village under Banki police station in Cuttack on Saturday night. The miscreants allegedly stole Rs 4.5 lakh in cash and a large quantity of gold jewellery while the family members were asleep.

As per reports, the incident took place late at night at the house of businessman Chittaranjan Sahoo. He lives near the high school in Dhasang village. According to the complaint lodged at the police station, the thieves allegedly broke open the almirah and fled with cash and jewellery.

Police suspect that the house may have been targeted because Sahoo is a businessman.
