Bhubaneswar, June 15 -- A minor college student from Kandhamal district in Odisha successfully intervened to prevent her own marriage by seeking assistance from the Phulbani Child Helpline. The incident has been reported from Phiringia police station limits. The minor girl was rescued after she opposed her parents' alleged plans to marry her to an adult man.

The student has been accommodated at a state-run shelter home at the time of reporting.
