Bhubaneswar, Sept. 9 -- The Odisha Health Department has stepped up surveillance over reports of scrub typhus, with medical teams set to visit areas where suspected cases are being detected, Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling said.

The Minister said a special guideline has been prepared for the treatment and control of scrub typhus. The guideline covers case detection, treatment and preventive measures, along with steps to prevent the disease from spreading to other areas.

"Medical teams will visit places where scrub typhus is being detected. We will also take awareness and control measures in those areas," Mahaling said.
