Bhubaneswar, May 31 -- Chitrakonda police in Malkangiri district in Odisha seized nearly one tonne of ganja worth around Rs 15 lakh during a raid in a forest area near Arangi village on Saturday. This reportedly dealt a significant blow to an alleged narcotics smuggling operation.

The contraband was recovered before it could be transported, though no arrests were made during the operation.

According to police, specific intelligence inputs indicated that a large quantity of ganja was stored in a forest near Arangi village under Gunthabeda Panchayat within the jurisdiction of Chitrakonda police station.
