India, July 29 -- A 30-foot breach developed in the Anandpur ring embankment in Odisha's Keonjhar district late on Tuesday night following a rise in the water level of Baitarani river. This prompted the evacuation of over 50 families living along the ring road. The embankment, considered the lifeline of Anandpur, was damaged after the swollen river exerted heavy pressure, raising concerns over further inundation in nearby low-lying areas.
