Bhubaneswar, April 19 -- An elephant brutally killed a woman in Odisha's Deogarh forest division while nearby villages reported fresh incidents of elephant intrusion and property damage, highlighting ongoing human-wildlife conflict in the region.
The deceased has been identified as Pati Pradhan of Aunli Kudasahi under the Deogarh forest division. She was attacked by an elephant while she had gone to a nearby forest to collect mahua.
Forest department personnel reached the spot and were investigating the incident at the time of reporting.
In a related development, on Saturday, an elephant entered Sangapasi village under the Kundeigola section of the same forest division, creating panic among residents.
