Bhubaneswar, June 21 -- A man was killed and his wife was seriously injured in an attack at Shankarpur village under Sadar Police Station limits in Odisha's Balasore district on Sunday. The incident took place over an alleged dispute regarding a coconut tree.

The injured man was initially rushed for treatment but later succumbed to his injuries at Fakir Mohan Medical College and Hospital. His wife, who was also injured in the attack, was undergoing treatment at the time of reporting.

According to reports, the attack stemmed from a disagreement over plucking coconuts from a coconut tree. The younger brother reportedly hired individuals to attack his elder brother and sister-in-law.
