Bhubaneswar, March 18 -- A man was killed after being run over by a sand-laden hyva truck near Ichhapur Patana village under Korei police limits in Odisha's Jajpur district on Tuesday afternoon. The driver fled the scene after the incident, while police have seized the vehicle.

The deceased has been identified as Bhagaban Rath, a resident of Gamharia village.

According to reports, the incident occurred when Rath was returning home from the station. During this time, a speeding sand-laden hyva truck allegedly ran over him, leading to his death on the spot.
