Man attacked by brother, nephew for 'opposing child marriage' in Dhenkanal
Bhubaneswar, Sept. 13 -- A 65-year-old man was allegedly subjected to a deadly attack after attempting to stop a child marriage in Odisha's Dhenkanal. The incident took place in Tarava village under Sadar police station limits.
The injured man has been identified as Ghanshyam Barik. He was allegedly attacked with wooden sticks by his brother, nephew and nephew's wife. His son and wife were also allegedly attacked when they tried to intervene and rescue him. Ghanshyam, who sustained serious injuries, was subsequently admitted to Dhenkanal Hospital.
