Bhubaneswar, Oct. 31 -- A man and his son died after coming in contact with an electric wire laid in an agricultural field to protect crops from wild animals in Haripur village under Nachuni police station limits in Khordha district of Odisha.

The deceased have been identified as Rabindra Guru and his son Pabitra Guru. The incident took place on Friday evening when Rabindra came in contact with the live wire installed in the field.

According to the reports, Rabindra was struggling after receiving an electric shock when his son Pabitra noticed him and rushed to rescue him. However, Pabitra also came in contact with the live wire and died.
