Bhubaneswar, June 11 -- A major El Nino event has become active in the Pacific Ocean, prompting meteorologists worldwide to closely monitor its potential impact on global weather patterns in the coming months. Climate experts believe the phenomenon could intensify significantly and influence temperatures, rainfall and extreme weather events across several regions.
The United States' National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has confirmed the onset of El Nino conditions and indicated that there is a 63 percent probability of the event becoming "very strong" between November 2026 and January 2027. Scientists say such an event could rank among the strongest El Nino episodes recorded since 1950.
