Bhubaneswar, May 18 -- Odisha police launched a major crackdown on illegal sand trade activities in Keonjhar district on Monday, conducting raids at multiple locations linked to alleged sand mafia operators. The operations targeted areas under Anandapur, Ghasipura, and Nandipada police stations.

During the raids, officials searched the residences of individuals allegedly involved in illicit sand trading, seizing cash worth Rs 25 lakh and over 30 vehicles. In addition, more than 12 people have been detained for questioning in connection with the case.
