Bhubaneswar, June 13 -- Police conducted raids at the houses of seven alleged cattle mafia operators in different parts of Balasore district on Saturday. The searches were carried out early in the morning by a special police team.

The raids were conducted in areas under Jaleswar, Basta, Baliapal and Kamarda police station limits. Acting on the directions of the DIG, police teams launched simultaneous operations at multiple locations linked to the accused persons.

Senior police officials, including the SDPOs of Jaleswar, Basta and Sadar, joined the operation along with police personnel. The accused cattlemafia operators were reportedly absconding during the raids.
