Bhubaneswar, April 11 -- The ongoing Mahanadi water dispute has intensified political tensions in Odisha, with opposition parties launching sharp attacks on the state government. Both the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) and the Congress have questioned the delay in resolving the long-standing issue.
BJD leaders alleged that despite the BJP being in power in the state, central, and Chhattisgarh levels, there has been little progress. Criticising what they termed a 'triple-engine government', BJD MLA Ganeshwar Behera questioned the reasons behind the continued delay, alleging that the government is deliberately prolonging the matter and lacks the intent to resolve the dispute.
